Richard Buxton quits Schroders to join Old Mutual
Fund manager Richard Buxton has resigned as head of UK equities at Schroders after 12 years at the asset manager.
Buxton, the firm’s head of UK equities and manager of the £3.7bn Schroder UK Alpha Plus fund, will leave the company on 14 June.
Money Marketing’s sister title Fundweb understands he will join Old Mutual Global Investors, where he will assume fund management responsibilities.
Errol Francis, co-manager of the £648m Schroder UK Equity fund, also quit the asset manager today and will depart on the day as Buxton.
Schroders head of UK intermediary Robin Stoakley says: “With our team-based investment approach, we are committed to ensuring that we continue to deliver the strong investment performance in UK equities our clients expect from Schroders.”
The Schroder UK Alpha Plus fund returned 254.4 per cent over the 10 years to 31 January.
